We started this week out trying to get Mckenzie to eat rice cereal. Talk about a chore! After a long week of having rice cereal spit back into my face and accidentally putting the bowl to close to her reach and having it dumped all over the place we finally managed to get it down and she loves it now. The only thing now is that she thinks she's a big girl and tries to take the spoon out of my hand to feed herself.
This week Mckenzie also learned how to maneuver her walker a little bit. If I have it on the hard kitchen floor she's learned to kick her legs so that she can move backwards all over the kitchen. The only problem is that she always end up in one spot and that's in the corner under my counter and of course she hasn't figures out how to get out of this one so she squeals for help. And yes she also learned the loud high picked squeal this week too.
One of her new favorite things to do is to keep squealing so loud until I finally tell her shh. She then thinks it's funny and laughs and then starts over squealing. I'm sure we're going to have fun with that Sunday in church. It's a good thing I think she's cute because she sure can be a stinker sometimes and she's only four and a half months old.
Yesterday we hit the climax of our week with our truck dying while Louis was driving it. Yesterday around 12:30 Louis calls me to tell me that he's in the worst situation and needs some help. He says that his truck just died on him and that he was stuck on the middle of the hill by the college and that he couldn't move and of course his park park is no good so he can't get out of his truck because if he let go of the brake it will roll backwards and of course it's in the middle of rush hour traffic on campus. So I quickly take the bottle out of Mckenzie's mouth and load her up in the car and we come to try and help him. On my way there I have to stop and wait for a train and of course there is no way around the train tracks. By the time I finally get there Louis has managed to direct traffic around him and inch back down the hill when no traffic was coming. He now can get out of his truck, but it's still half way into the road. We then tried everything we could think of to get the truck started. We then tried to call everyone we knew for help. After a long go of people either not being home or just being plain to busy or not willing to help us (and not to mention all the college kids and the 4 cops that all drove by) and yes Mckenzie is screaming full time because she's hungry, I finally got my brother to tow us a block before he had to go to class so that we were at least of the road, thank goodness. Louis was then finally able to get a hold of his dad who came to our rescue and towed our truck to a shop. Just our luck no one was at the shop. We didn't feel safe about leaving the truck there with out anyone around because our window was down and we had no power to put it back up. So we ended up bringing it back to our apartment, where it now sits until we can get someone to look at it. And to think today is supposed to be Friday the 13th! I think we had ours yesterday.

McKenzie is getting so big. I can't believe at 4 1/2 months she can already move her walker. She must be tough. I feel so bad about Louis's truck. What a pain in the butt some things are. Sorry you had a crazy day yesterday. Dang cops too...what are we paying them to do if they can't even help.
